Program Philosophy

The ONE WAY is… UP!

There is only one direction that matters. One path worth walking. One way to honor the talent you’ve been given, and that’s to develop it fully, compete with everything you have, and become something greater than you were yesterday.

That’s what One Way Basketball Institute is about. Not hype. Not shortcuts. Just the quiet, daily work of getting better on the court, in the mind, and in the soul.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe put it best:

“If you treat an individual as he is, he will remain how he is. But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.”

The following characteristics, which closely relate to OUR VALUES, will serve as foundational pillars.

“Coaching to me is getting the most out of your players. Every player is different and has distinct God given talents and characteristics. We must coach our players to the level of their potential, not to the level of where they currently are. Many coaches put players in the box by limiting what they can do on the court. I believe players need to be provided with guidelines instead of limitations and be challenged, but also encouraged and allowed to risk and grow through the process. This is the best way to improve.”

- Coach Paul Mrozik

Exceptional
Teamwork
Our team wants to be known by unmatched togetherness. This is accomplished by putting others first and putting team goals ahead of personal goals.
Contagious
Effort
Every part of practice and game, but also applied to academics and community service. Once we come together and put in work towards a common goal, there’ll be no other way for the outsiders, but to join in and get affected by our efforts.
Physical & Emotional
Toughness
This critical characteristic can be taught and trained, and we will make sure we refine it in the ones that already have it, and cultivate it in the ones that are just acquiring it. We will be hard to overcome that way.
Precise
Roles
Help to define who we are and what we ought to be focusing on and doing. There can only be a one starting point guard or a head coach. Each one of us might have different roles and expectations, but that does not mean we are unequal in significance. Everyone on the team has great importance.
Court Balance &
Spacing
Will be taught and implemented at all times ,because we want to run as smoothly as a well-oiled and powerful machine.
