Coach Mrozik's Bio
Coach Paul Mrozik is a highly respected basketball coach and program builder with a distinguished career spanning player development, international scouting, and success at both the NCAA Division I and elite high school levels.
Mrozik played intercollegiate basketball at Western Nebraska Community College, a nationally recognized NJCAA program. As a player, he contributed to the team’s advancement to the NJCAA National Tournament, gaining valuable experience in a competitive environment that shaped his coaching philosophy.
His coaching career began in Poland, where he co-founded the **Polish Shootout**, an elite showcase camp held in Warsaw. From 2002 to 2008, Coach Mrozik and co-founder Marek Zielinski hosted dozens of NCAA coaches—including legendary Davidson head coach Bob McKillop—creating direct pipelines for top Polish prospects to earn college scholarships. Over six years, the event helped more than 40 players secure opportunities to play intercollegiate basketball in the United States, with standouts advancing to programs such as the University of Kentucky, University of Cincinnati, and University of Central Florida.
At the NCAA Division I level, Coach Mrozik served on the staffs of four prominent programs. He began at Valparaiso University under legendary head coach Homer Drew, working alongside Bryce Drew (former NBA player and current head coach at Grand Canyon University). He later coached at Liberty University under Dale Layer, served as Associate Head Coach at Cal Poly under Joe Callero, and rounded out his college tenure at Mercer University under Bob Hoffman, one of the winningest coaches in Georgia history.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Coach Mrozik built one of the most successful high school basketball programs in the country at Mountain Mission School. Taking over a program with no prior tradition, he transformed it within just four years into a nationally prominent powerhouse, achieving a top-10 national ranking. Recognized internationally and domestically as a premier player development program, Mountain Mission produced numerous elite talents under his leadership.
